A simple way to pay

If you prefer to make a single payment for Funeral Plan or Funeral Assist, then this option can help towards the cost of a simple cremation funeral


Overview

If you wish to pay for some funeral services in one go and protect against future price rises, then you can make a single lump sum payment directly to The Co-operative Funeralcare. As long as you're over 18, your acceptance is guaranteed with no medical or health questions. There are two plans to choose from: Funeral Plan and Funeral Assist.

 

Have a look below for a summary of the benefits and considerations of the single lump sum payment option from The Co-operative Funeralcare. Please ensure that you have read the Terms and Conditions for paying by lump sum before you apply.

 

To apply, you need to click on the "Application form" button, print off the application form and return it to The Co-operative Funeralcare by post.

 

Funeral Plan single lump sum payment

£2,730 (including disbursements, which are the crematorium fees and the fees for the doctor's medical certificate and the Minister / Officiant.)

 

Funeral Assist (excluding disbursements) single lump sum payment

£1,910 (excluding disbursements, which will need to be paid for by your loved ones at the time of need.)

 

With the single payment option your funeral will be available once The Co-operative Funeralcare has received your payment and it has been processed.

 

The benefits you can expect

  • The Co-operative Funeralcare guarantee to accept you without a medical - all that we ask is that you're over 18
  • If you wish, you can take out Funeral Plan or Funeral Assist single payment product for someone close to you, such as a family member
  • Your chosen funeral services will be available the moment your payment has been processed, so there is no waiting period
  • Paying in advance could put your mind at rest if you're worried about rising costs
  • If you wish to cancel your plan within the first 30 days you will receive a full refund. If you choose to cancel your plan after 30 days you are entitled to a refund less a cancellation charge of £250


What you must consider

  • If your circumstances change and you decide you no longer want The Co-operative Funeralcare to arrange your funeral services, they cannot guarantee that the refund will be enough to cover alternative arrangements. You will also incur a cancellation fee of £250. The Co-operative Funeralcare will not pay out any interest on the money you've paid
  • If you choose Funeral Assist, disbursements are not included
  • Any costs that aren't included in the funeral services option that you choose would have to be paid for by your loved ones when the funeral takes place, at whatever the cost might be at the time
  • The Co-operative Funeralcare is not regulated by the Financial Services Authority, so in the unlikely event that The Co-operative Funeralcare go out of business, you will not be able to make a claim under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
  • Please remember to tell your loved ones about any plans you put in place
