Discover what the savvy celebs are investing in
We all know celebs have plenty of cash, but not all of them spend it wisely. However, there are plenty of savvy stars with the brains to spot a great investment opportunity when they see one. Right now, many are investing in the new technology market. And when you look at the stats, you can see why. So which celebs are the canniest with their cash?
Justin Timberlake – Myspace, Miso media
Perhaps playing Sean Parker in ‘The Social Network’ inspired Justin to start investing in the tech world himself. Aside from Miso Media, a site that supports music education, Justin is also an investor and the brand ambassador for MySpace. His aim is to bring it back to popularity, following its demise in the wake of Facebook.
William Shatner – Priceline.com
Where’s Captain Kirk been boldly going with his investments? Well back in 1997 William Shatner became the official spokesperson for Priceline.com and featured in their advertising. Rather than taking payment for his services, he accepted equity instead. Illogical captain? Certainly not. 10 years later he cashed out his investment making $600 million in the process.
Ashton Kutcher – Skype, Foursquare, Airbnb
When it comes to investing in new technology, Kutcher is one of the biggest success stories in the business with a nose for a great idea. Since 2007, he’s invested in 13 start-ups, including Skype, Fourquare and Airbnb. That’s bound to be a lot of noughts on the end of another big number.
