Why is it when your car’s being repaired you can have a courtesy car, but when your poorly pet has to stay at the vet, you have to go home to an empty sofa?
Not anymore. SunLife Pet Insurance now comes with courtesy pet cover FREE, so you no longer need to despair when your pet’s in for repair. That’s right, you’ll get a replacement pet to keep you company while yours is getting back on its paws – free. And that’s not all. We’ll make sure your courtesy pet is the perfect match for you.
PetMatch™ like-for-like guarantee in 3 simple steps
Our exclusive courtesy pet cover includes PetMatch™, a patented pet-matching service developed in the kindergartens of Switzerland. PetMatch is powered by the highly sophisticated parallel pet algorithm that pinpoints the right pet for you.
Here’s how PetMatch™ goes into action as soon as your pet’s stay at the vet starts:
- The ONLY courtesy pet cover on the market
- FREE replacement pet when yours is out of action
- PLUS PetMatch™ – like-for-like guarantee
- Company while your pet gets back on its paws
* PetMatch™ is based on factual evidence alone. Personal views on your pet’s intelligence are subjective and cannot be accepted, however cute your cat looks wrapped in toilet paper.
I would just like to say how impressed I’ve been with your courtesy pet service. I was very anxious about missing my little cat Winston while he was at the vets, but I needn’t have worried. I was a little surprised when a 12 foot long snake arrived as my replacement pet, but after a few days we got on fine and he proved to be just as good a mouser as my Winston. Clever PetMatch! I’m glad to have Winston back safe and well but I was sorry to say goodbye to Brian. Excellent service!”
“A refreshing change”
“When Tiny, my Great Dane Rottie cross hurt herself and had to have an op at the veterinary hospital, your courtesy pet service certainly took my mind off missing her. A Shetland Pony was such an interesting choice. Your adviser explained that PetMatch had based its selection on size and number of legs and both I have to say, matched perfectly. We actually found the experience a refreshing change. Our courtesy pony pulled less on the lead and even carried our youngest child on its back when she got tired during a walk. Would definitely use this service again.”
Frequently asked questions
Here are 5 questions we’ve never been frequently asked:
If you have SunLife Pet Insurance then you’re guaranteed to be accepted for free courtesy pet cover.
Whilst we cannot give advice on whether our pet insurance is right for you, if you don’t have a pet you may want to consider not taking out pet insurance in the first place. Also, claiming you always wanted a pet but were never allowed to have one, does not qualify you for courtesy pet cover, however much you beg.
Our unique PetMatch™ service will match your courtesy pet to your own pet based on one special feature, such as colour or favourite food. The special feature is fixed from day one and will never change, so you’ll always know where you stand, which might well be next to a llama.
The courtesy pet we provide you with is guaranteed to match your pet in one way only. The courtesy pet’s ability to do specific tricks cannot be guaranteed, although we once had a snake that could belly dance.
In the future, you’ll be able to upgrade to our enhanced courtesy pet cover, which will include a range of circus trained animals and talking birds.
We are delighted that your courtesy pet showed such impeccable manners, however, you must return them as soon as your own pet has recovered.
Whilst how you train your pet is your own decision, you may want to try a bit harder from now on.
You courtesy pet will be well-fed and watered on arrival and must have a full tummy on collection. If your courtesy pet is found to be even the slightest bit peckish you will be charged a full feeding penalty (average £75 based on a kilo of fillet steak and a bottle of mineral water). Our courtesy pets are used to the best.
Exclusion apply. This page contains information on how Courtesy Pet Cover works. As it does not contain advice, you need to be satisfied that you actually have a pet and not just a lifelong hankering for one.
