UK's most affordable plan of its type
UK's most affordable plan of its type
Our Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is the UK's number one choice for Over 50 Life Insurance^. From as little as £3.90 a month, it's a simple and affordable way to leave your loved ones a cash sum, either as a gift or to pay towards a funeral.
The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is an Over 50s Life Insurance policy that guarantees to pay out when you die, after the first two years. It is also known as
whole of life insurance. All we ask is that you keep paying your premiums when due or your plan will end and you'll get nothing back.
If you’re aged 50-85 and a UK resident, we guarantee to accept you with no health questions – we won’t even ask if you smoke.
You choose a fixed monthly premium when you take out the plan and, provided you keep paying it when due, a fixed cash sum will be paid out when you die, after the plan has been in force for two years. If you die during the first two years, we'll pay out all the premiums you've paid, plus half as much again (unless you die as the result of an accident in which case we'll pay the full cash sum).
You need to be sure you're comfortable with the premium you choose as if you stop paying, your plan will end and you won't get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay more than the cash sum paid out.
The SunLife Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is provided by AXA Wealth Ltd.

Leaving a cash sum for your family can cost less than you think. Premiums start from just £3.90 a month - which is the UK's lowest premium for plans of this type† . What's more, the first month's premium is FREE. One thing you can be sure of - we promise never to increase your premiums or reduce your cover, although as the cash sum is fixed, inflation will reduce its value over time.
If you're buying this plan to pay towards your funeral costs, add our FREE Funeral Benefit Option to your plan and get a £300 contribution towards the final cost of your funeral.

If you're aged 50 - 80, rather than paying premiums every month for life, you can choose a higher monthly premium that stops after a certain number of years, or until death if earlier - we call it
Premium Cap Option. You'll still be covered for life and your cash sum will be the same.

Talking about your funeral isn't easy,
My Perfect Send Off lets you record your funeral wishes FREE for when the time comes.
Ever noticed how your money doesn't go as far as it used to? That's probably down to inflation. Inflation is where prices of goods and services increase over time. For example, In 1980 you could buy nearly three loaves of bread for £1, but today you can only buy one*. When thinking about choosing a cover amount, you should think about how much prices (especially funeral prices) may increase over time and whether the fixed cash sum you choose today will be able to cover the things you would like it to, in the future.

The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a simple way to leave a fixed cash sum for your family after you’ve gone, either as a gift or to help towards funeral expenses.
The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a whole of life policy - you choose a fixed monthly premium at the start and provided you keep paying them throughout your life, a fixed cash sum will be paid out when you die, after the Plan has been in force for two years.
No. There are no health questions to answer and no medical whatsoever. Provided you’re aged 50 - 85 and a UK resident, you’re guaranteed to be accepted.
You can choose from a range of premiums between £3.90 and £74 per month (as long as the amount of life cover does not exceed £25,000) and to help get your Plan underway, the first premium is free.
As this is a whole of life plan, you need to choose a monthly premium you are confident you'll always be able to pay because premiums are payable for life.
Or, if you’d prefer the reassurance of knowing exactly when you stop paying, if you’re between 50 and 80, you choose our Premium Cap Option. You pay a higher premium each month, for a set number of years but you'll still be covered for life and your cash sum will be the same.
You should remember that with both options, you need to pay your premiums when due, as if you stop paying, your plan will be cancelled and you won't get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay in more than the cash sum paid out.
If you’re between 50 and 80, you can choose to stop paying your premiums after a set number of years, based on your age when taking out the plan.
You pay a higher premium each month for this option, but you’ll have the reassurance of knowing exactly when you’ll stop paying and you'll still be covered for life.
The length of time you pay is based on your age when you take out the plan, so if you’re 50 when you arrange a plan, your fixed monthly premium would need to be paid for 26 years. If you’re 60, you’ll need to pay for 19 years – until you’re 79. When you choose Premium Cap Option, you’ll be told how many years you’ll pay your premiums for and the commitment you need to make.
Of course, whenever you die, so long as it's after the first two years, your premiums will stop and the full cash sum would be paid out.
You have 30 days from the day you receive your policy documents during which you can cancel your Plan and have any premiums paid refunded in full. After that, you can cancel your Plan at any time by writing to us. Remember, if you do cancel, your life cover will end and you wouldn't get anything back. As long as you continue to pay your monthly premiums, your Plan can’t be cancelled by us for any reason.
Making a claim is a simple, reliable process. Our staff will do everything they can to make claims go as smoothly as possible. When the time comes, all your loved ones will need to do is simply call us or write to us and we will help them with the rest. There are more details about how to make a claim here.
If you are planning to use the cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan to pay towards your funeral, you could add our FREE Funeral Benefit Option to your Plan. The cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan will be paid directly to Dignity Funerals Limited who will use it to help pay for your funeral. It doesn’t cost you anything extra to add Funeral Benefit Option to your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, but you do need to make sure you keep paying the premiums for your Plan. What's more, Dignity Funerals will also make a £300 Contribution towards the final cost of your funeral, helping your loved ones even more. You can only take out Funeral Benefit Option if you haven’t done so already. This includes any over 50s life cover you may have with another provider.
