Straightforward pet insurance for cats and dogs
- Four levels of cover available
- £1m third party liability cover for all dogs
Leading direct to consumer financial services provider SunLife is further strengthening its general insurance offering with the launch of SunLife Pet Insurance.
Part of SunLife’s straightfordable (straightforward and affordable) range, the new pet insurance, for cats and dogs, has four levels of cover to suit a range of budgets and needs; accident only, bronze, silver and gold.
Dean Lamble, managing director of SunLife said: “The launch of SunLife pet insurance, and later this month, SunLife home insurance, is part of a wider transformation of SunLife into a consumer insurance business, which makes it easy for people to understand and buy the financial products they need.”
All levels of cover offer death by accident, kennel and cattery fees and holiday cancellation fees as well as access to the 24 hour veterinary helpline for round the clock advice. All dog insurance policies include £1 million third party liability cover.
The bronze, silver and gold levels also cover death by illness, loss by theft, quarantine expenses, emergency expenses abroad and loss of pet passport.
Simon Stanney, general insurance director at SunLife said: “We wanted our pet insurance to be straightforward and affordable, but we know there is no 'one size fits all'.
“By offering four levels of insurance - accident, bronze, silver and gold - we can ensure there is cover to suit every dog and cat owner.”
Cover is available either online or over the phone by calling 0800 051 0411 and can be arranged in minutes.
Mr Stanney concludes: “If your pet were to fall ill or have an accident, you will naturally want to get them the right care that gets them back to their old selves.
“But, when you consider that an overnight vet stay costs around £675 for a dog and £300 for a cat 1, being able to afford the right treatment is another matter.
“With pet insurance, you have the peace of mind that you and your pet are protected should the worst happen.”
SunLife pet insurance is arranged and administered by BDML Connect Ltd and underwritten by Zenith Insurance plc.
