What is SunLife's Funeral Benefit Option?
SunLife's Funeral Benefit Option is a free benefit that you can choose to add to your existing Guaranteed Over 50 Plan.
SunLife has teamed up with Co-op Funeralcare to provide the Funeral Benefit Option which gives your loved ones 10% off Co-op Funeralcare services.

How does the Funeral Benefit Option work?
With SunLife's free Funeral Benefit Option, your loved ones will get 10% off your funeral if they arrange it with Co-op Funeralcare.
The discount only applies to services provided directly by Co-op Funeralcare and will be applied to the cost at the point of redemption. Even if funeral costs rise in the future, the same 10% saving would apply to the price at the time. Please note this cost does not cover third-party fees such as minister fees, flowers, or memorial items (not applicable to a Direct Cremation).
How much does a funeral cost in the UK?

What happens when my loved ones make a claim?
It's important to let your loved ones know if you choose to add a Funeral Benefit Option, so they know to call or visit your local Co-op funeral director to claim the discount when the time comes.
The cash payout from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan will be paid directly to the Co-op funeral director and put towards the cost of the funeral.

Important to know
- SunLife's Funeral Benefit Option provides a 10% discount on eligible Co-op Funeralcare services. Discount excludes additional fees and third-party products or services, such as minister fees, flowers, or memorial items.
- If you already have a Funeral Plan or Funeral Benefit Option with SunLife or another provider, you cannot add another Funeral Benefit Option.
- If your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan cash sum and Funeral Benefit Option discount don't cover the full funeral cost, the remaining amount must be paid separately.
