Making payments

Here’s everything you need to know about making a payment to us.

Making a payment to us

Your payment will take three working days to clear, if you pay by bank or Post Office. It will take five working days to clear if you pay by post. We don’t issue receipts.

Important: When you make a payment, please use your policy number as your payment reference. This helps us identify which policy the payment is for. (If your policy number isn’t used as the reference, we can’t allocate your payment to the correct policy.)

Payment information for our Guaranteed Over 50 Plan and Protected Funeral Payout Plan only.

Cheque

Please make the cheque payable to "SunLife" and write your name [Policyholder's name] and policy number on the back.

Giro

Please call us on 0800 008 6060 if you would like a Giro slip to be sent to you.

Once we have received payment, future payments can also be made by:

Direct Debit

If you would like to pay by Direct Debit or have updated your bank details, please contact us on 0800 008 6060, and we will issue a new Direct Debit to you for completion.

We've partnered with a number of carefully selected companies to bring you some of these products and services. If you have one of those products, you'll need to call our partner directly who will be happy to help you. We've listed all their numbers for you below. But don't worry, whether you speak to us or one of our partners, you'll still get the same great service.
